Every 50 Service Hours

Usage:

(8)Pre-Lube Pump-Early 399 Only

1. Check the oil level. Maintain the oil between the ADD and FULL marks on the dipstick.
2. Add oil if necessary.

(9)Dust Collector Cup

1. Remove the retaining wing nut from the top of the dust collector cup.

2. Remove and clean the dust collector cup.

3. Install the dust collector cup.

(10)Zinc Rods

1. Move the battery disconnect switch to the OFF position.

2. Remove all the zinc plugs. They are painted red for easy identification.

3. Tap the zinc rods lightly with a hammer. If the rod has deteriorated, or flakes when tapped, install a new zinc rod.

Installing New Zinc Rods

1. Unscrew or drill the existing rod from the plug base.
2. Install a new rod in the plug base.
3. Install the plug.

(11)Batteries

------ WARNING! ------

Do not smoke when observing battery electrolyte level. Batteries give off fumes that can explode.

Electrolyte is an acid and can cause personal injury if it contacts skin or eyes.

------WARNING!--------
1. Clean the tops of the batteries. Keep the terminals clean and covered with a light coat of grease.

2. Remove all fill caps. Observe the electrolyte level.
3. Maintain the electrolyte level to the bottom of the filler openings.
4. Install the fill caps.

If water is necessary, use distilled water if it is available. Otherwise, use clean water that is low in minerals, not artificially softened water.
