Removal Procedure

Start By:

1. Remove the fan. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fan - Remove".

Note: The radiator has been removed for photographic reasons.

1. Remove the alternator V-belts. See the following steps.

   1. Loosen the alternator belt adjustment (1) .

   2. Loosen the alternator mounting bolt and nut (3). Slide the alternator toward the engine in order to release tension on two V-belts (2) .

   3. Remove two V-belts (2) .

2. Remove six bolts (4) and remove fan pulley (5) .

3. Remove four bolts (6) and remove fan drive (7) and the bracket assembly.

Installation Procedure

Note: Check the V-belts for wear or damage. Use new replacement parts, if necessary.

1. Install fan drive (7) and the bracket assembly with four bolts (6) .

2. Install fan pulley (5) and six bolts (4) .

Note: In order to adjust V-belt tension, refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Alternator and Fan Belts - Inspect/Adjust/Replace" for the proper Adjustment procedure.

3. Install the alternator V-belts. See the following steps.

   1. Install two V-belts (2) .

   2. Slide the alternator away from the engine in order to put tension on two V-belts (2). Tighten the alternator mounting bolt and nut (3) .

   3. Tighten the alternator adjusting bracket bolt (1) .

End By: Install the fan. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Fan - Install".
