Installation Procedure

Note: This procedure is for the left side of the pipelayer frame. The right side is similar.

1. Attach a suitable lifting device to the pipelayer frame. Place the frame in the position for installation. Weight of the pipelayer frame is 160 kg (352 lb).

2. Install pin (5) .

3. Install retainer (7) .

4. Install bolts (6) and the washers.

5. Repeat steps 2 through 4 for opposite side of the pipelayer frame.

6. Install pin (4) .

7. Put lock rings (2) in position on both sides of pin (4) and loosely install bolts (1) and access plugs (3) .

8. Use Tooling (A) in order to turn the pin.

9. Tighten bolts (1) in locking ring (2). Tighten the bolts to a torque of 40 N·m (30 lb ft).

10. Tighten access plugs (3) .

11. Repeat steps 9 and 10 for opposite side of the pin.

End By: Install the boom. Refer to Disassembly and AssemblySENR1811, "Boom - Remove and Install".
