(1) Use Tooling (A) or (A1) based on requirements.
(2) Operating-Voltage (240V-480V)
(3) Operating-Voltage (200V-400V)

  1. Inspect all parts and clean all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.

  2. Apply 1U-8268 Dry Film Lubricant to conical bushings (7). Install two conical bushings (7) to each side of the bore that is in equalizer arm (1).

  3. Use the lift truck and Tooling (B) to install equalizer arm (1) to the machine. The weight of equalizer arm (1) is 168 kg (370 lb). Apply 1U-8268 Dry Film Lubricant to end cap (4). Install end cap (4) to equalizer arm (1).

  4. Install three bolts (5) that secure end cap (4) to equalizer arm (1). Remove Tooling (B) and the nylon lifting strap from equalizer arm (1) and the lift truck. Remove the lift truck from equalizer arm (1).

    For Tooling (A)

  5. Install eight nuts (2) and the bolts that secure equalizer arm (1) to suspension frame mountings (3). Tighten nuts (2) and the bolts to a torque of 270 ± 40 N·m (199 ± 30 lb ft).

  6. Remove Tooling (A).

    Note: Ensure that Tooling (C) positioned under the axles.

    For Tooling (A1)

  7. Install eight nuts (2) and the bolts that secure equalizer arm (1) to suspension frame mountings (3). Tighten nuts (2) and the bolts to a torque of 270 ± 40 N·m (199 ± 30 lb ft).

  8. Remove Tooling (A1). Refer to Tool Operating Manual, NEHS1303, "Lift Group (Stand - 25 Ton)" for more information on Tooling (A1).

    Note: Ensure that Tooling (C) positioned under the axles.

  9. Install the equalizer arm to the other side of the machine by using the same procedure.

End By:

  1. Install the tires and rims.
