Counterbalance Valve (Tailgate) - Install

Usage:

D350E II 2XW

Installation Procedure

  1. Inspect all parts and clean all parts. If any parts are worn or damaged, use new Caterpillar parts for replacement.

  2. Install the O-ring seal to plug (15). Install plug (15) and O-ring seal (16) to counterbalance valve (3). Install bonded seal (18) to banjo bolt (14). Bonded seal (17) will be installed with counterbalance valve (3).

  3. Install the other bonded seal on banjo bolt (14) and between counterbalance valve (3) and hydraulic cylinder (13). Position counterbalance valve (3) to hydraulic cylinder (13).

  4. Install banjo bolt (14) that secures counterbalance valve (3) to hydraulic cylinder (13). Tighten the banjo bolt to a torque of 135 ± 15 N·m (100 ± 11 lb ft).

  5. Tighten retaining nut (11) in order to connect hose (12) to counterbalance valve (3).

  6. Tighten retaining nut (9) in order to connect hose (10) to adapter (8).

  7. Tighten retaining nut (7) in order to connect hose (6) to counterbalance valve (3). Tighten retaining nut (5) in order to connect hose (6) to adapter (4).

  8. Remove nylon lifting straps (1) from tailgate (2).
