Installation Procedure (Power Shift Transmission)

1. Put clean oil on the O-ring seals.

2. Install O-ring seal (3) on the transmission case. Install four O-ring seals (2) and (4) on the transmission and bevel gear case.

3. Install Tooling (A) on top of the transmission case and attach a hoist.

4. Put the transmission and bevel gears in position with the rollers on tube assemblies (1) .

NOTICE
The transmission and bevel gear must be supported when the hoist is removed link brackets on top of the transmission [Tooling (A) ] to the rear adapter [Tooling (B) ]. Be sure that the support for the transmission and bevel gear is on a solid footing so that the transmission and bevel gear will not fall when the hoist is removed from Tooling (A) .

5. Support the transmission with a floor jack or wood blocks.

6. Install Tooling (B) on the transmission cover.

7. Remove the hoist from Tooling (A) and attach the hoist to Tooling (B) .

8. Remove Tooling (A) from the top of the transmission.

9. Attach Tooling (C) between each roller frame and Tooling (B) .

10. Keep the transmission level with the hoist and pull the transmission evenly into the case with Tooling (C) .

11. Install the 22 bolts that hold the transmission and bevel gears in the case.

12. Remove Tooling (C) and Tooling (B) . Install the cover and the gasket.

13. Put the O-ring seals on two covers (6) . Put the two cables through the holes in the transmission cover.

14. Install the two bolts that hold the two covers (6) .

15. Put direction control cable (8) in position on the priority valve. Install the pin assembly that holds the direction control cable in place.

16. Put speed control cable (7) in position on the priority valve. Install the pin assembly that holds the speed control cable in place.

17. Put the four O-ring seal on two sleeves (5) . Install the sleeves in the transmission hydraulic control.

18. Install adapter (9) on the two sleeves.

19. Put cover (10) and the gasket in position. Install the 17 bolts that hold the cover in place. Align the holes in adapter (9) with the holes in the cover and install four bolts (11) .

    Note: If the rear cover is removed for any reason, replace the gasket with a new gasket for the applicable model. A new gasket is recommended in order to prevent leakage.

20. Use two guide bolts and put the O-ring seal and retainer (12) in position. Install the six bolts and tighten the bolts to a torque of 59 ± 7 N·m (44 ± 5 lb ft).

21. Install drive shaft yoke (13) .

22. Fill the transmission and bevel gear case with oil. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Refill Capacities" for the amount of oil. Refer to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Lubricant Viscosities" for the type of oil.

End By:

1. Install the main drive shaft.
2. Install the drive axles.
