Usage:

784B 5RK

Illustration 1g00353126

When the engine is stopped, check the hydraulic oil level. Maintain the oil to the FULL mark in upper sight gauge (1) .

After engine start-up, check the oil level. If the oil level is at the FULL mark in the lower sight gauge (2) , the accumulators are properly charged.

If the oil level is below the "ADD" mark in the lower sight gauge (2) , the accumulators may be charged incorrectly.

Stop the engine with the ground level shutdown switch. This permits the accumulators to stay charged. Turn the wheels right and turn the wheels left. The charged accumulators should permit steering.

Note: Consult your Caterpillar dealer or refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Steering Accumulator - Test and Charge" for procedures to use to measure the charge pressure. Consult your Caterpillar dealer or refer to Testing and Adjusting, "Steering Accumulator - Test and Charge" for the charging procedures, if necessary.
