Description of Change: Both Special Instructions listed below have incorrect information in Step 15 and Step 17. The steps should read as follows:
15. (In the following section) "If contamination is found In Portion B
a. Inspect/replace transmission.
b. Inspect/flush transmission oil cooler. If a catastrophic failure has occurred, replace the transmission oil cooler.
17. Reset lock up clutch solenoid initial pressures after replacing station springs. Check transmission pump and lube pressures. Refer to Lock Up Clutch Pressure and Transmission Hydraulic Test procedures found in the Testing manuals. If bench testing is not an option or if initial pressures were not checked at bench testing, then set initial pressure to the high side of the specifications. ACCURATE SETTING OF INITIAL PRESSURES IS VERY SIGNIFICANT.
The "Lockup clutch maximum pressure at low idle setting" in both manuals listed below are incorrect. The sentence should read "Lockup clutch maximum pressure at low idle setting ... 2135 ± 70 kPa (310 ± 10 psi)".
