3406 DIESEL TRUCK ENGINE Caterpillar

1. Disconnect the two wires for the solenoid.

2. Remove two nuts (1) and slide the bolts toward rear of engine.

3. Remove solenoid (2), spring (3) and plunger (4).

4. Remove the nut and shaft from plunger.

Install Fuel Shutoff Solenoid

1. Install nut (1) and shaft (2) into the plunger. For the correct adjustment for the shaft, see the Specifications Section.

2. Install plunger (4) so shaft (5) is under the lever in the governor housing. Install spring (3) and the solenoid.

3. Install the two nuts on the bolts.

4. Connect the two wires.
