Usage:
(1) Tighten castle nut to 340 N·m (250 lb ft).
Back off castle nut (1) to nearest slot and install cotter pin.
(2) Tighten cylinder rod to tie rod joint to 600 ± 90 N·m (400 ± 65 lb ft) or apply 9S-3263 Thread Lock and torque to 250 ± 40 N·m (185 ± 30 lb ft).
(3) Position steering cylinder rod (3) until an equal amount is extended out of each side of the cylinder (Dimension "A").
(4) Adjust tie rod (4) until dimension "B" is 3 mm (.120 in) less than dimension "C".
(5) Repeat Step 4 for the other wheel.
(6) Tighten tie rod locknuts (5).
A. Equal amount of cylinder rod extending from each end of steering cylinder.
B. Dimension from the outside diameter of the trunnion bearing on the rear of the axle housing to the wheel rim bead seat.
C. Dimension from the outside diameter of the trunnion bearing on the front of the axle housing to the wheel rim bead seat.
4-WD
(1) Tighten castle nut to 150 N·m (110 lb ft).
Tighten castle nut (1) to nearest slot and install cotter pin.
(2) Tighten cylinder rod to tie rod joint to 300 N·m (220 lb ft).
(3) Position steering cylinder rod (3) until an equal amount is extended out of each side of the cylinder (Dimension "A").
(4) Adjust tie rod (4) until dimension "C" is 0 to 2 mm (0.0 to .08 in) less than dimension "B".
(5) Repeat Step 4 for the other wheel.
(6) Tighten tie rod locknuts (5) to 50 N·m (37 lb ft)
A. Equal amount of cylinder rod extending from each end of steering cylinder.
B. Dimension from the outside diameter of the trunnion bearing on the rear of the axle housing to the wheel rim bead seat.
C. Dimension from the outside diameter of the trunnion bearing on the front of the axle housing to the wheel rim bead seat.
