Usage:
Introduction
This publication provides information to install covers on the underside of the battery storage area.
Do not perform any procedure, outlined in this publication, or order any parts until you read and understand the information contained within.

NOTE: All welds to be E7018 or comparable wire.
NOTE: A lifting device capacity of lifting the machine will be required to complete this installation.

Installation Procedure
D25D, D30D and D350D Articulated Trucks
(1) 2U8954 Hinge Pin. (2) 2U8954 Hinge Pin. (3) 2U8970 Cover. (4) 14.0 mm (.56 in) diameter Holes. (5) 1F7958 Nut. (6) 8T4223 Washer. (7) 8T8917 Bolt. Dimension A, 206.0 mm (8.11 in). Dimension B, 23.0 mm (.91 in). Dimension C, 10.0 mm (.39 in). Dimension D, 500.0 ± 2.0 mm (19.69 ± .08 in).
1. Lift the tractor frame and support on suitable stands.
2. Remove the batteries.
3. Tack weld hinge pin (1) on bottom of battery storage area.
4. Tack weld hinge pin (2) on bottom of battery storage area. Use cover (3) to determine correct position of hinge pin (2).
5. Tack weld hinge pins (1) and (2) to cover (3).
6. Using cover (3) locate two holes (4) to be drilled.
7. Drill two 14.0 mm (.56 in) diameter holes (4).
8. Weld two nuts (5) in place on inside of frame over holes (4).
9. Check alignment of cover (3) with holes (4) and weld hinge pins (1) and (2) in place.
10. Install and tighten one washer (6) and bolt (7), in each of two holes (4), to secure cover (3) in place.
11. Clean and paint installation area of machine.
12. Install batteries and remove machine from stands.
D40D and D400D Articulated Trucks
Plate A. Dimension A, 960.0 mm (37.80 in). Dimension B, 233.0 mm (9.17 in). Dimension C, 60.0 mm (2.36 in). Dimension D, 18.0 mm (.71 in). Dimension E, 17.0 mm (.67 in) diameter.
1. Fabricate Plate A using 8.0 mm (.31 in) mild steel plate.
(1) 2U9861 Hinge Assembly. (2) 2U8952 Cover. (3) 14.0 mm (.56 in) diameter Holes. (4) 1F7958 Nut. (5) Plate A. (6) 8T4223 Washer. (7) 8T8917 Bolt. (8) 8T8919 Bolt. Dimension A, 137.0 mm (5.39 in). Dimension B, 43.0 mm (1.69 in).
2. Lift the tractor frame and support on suitable stands.
3. Remove the batteries.
4. Remove the tilt pump and tilt pump mounting bracket from frame.
5. Tack weld hinge assembly (1) on bottom of battery storage area.
6. Tack weld hinge assembly (1) to cover (2).
7. Using cover (2) locate two holes (3) to be drilled.
8. Drill two 14.0 mm (.56 in) diameter holes (3).
9. Weld two nuts (4) in place on inside of frame over holes (3).
10. Position plate A (5) and weld in place.
11. Check alignment of cover (2) with holes (3) and weld hinge assembly (1) in place.
12. Clean and paint installation area of machine.
13. Install and tighten two washers (6), bolt (7) and bolt (8) in the two holes (3) to secure cover (2) in place.
14. Install the tilt mounting bracket and tilt pump.
15. Install batteries and remove machine from stands.
