introduction

Some engines, in firepump applications, will sometimes experience a high water temperature alarm after engine shutdown

The installation of the 1041820 Wiring Kit and using this instruction will correct this situation

INSTALLING THE 1041820 WIRING KIT (WHEN USING THE ORIGINAL 7W9609 HARNESS)

This portion of the instruction is to be used when

* Installing the 1041820 Wiring Kit when the original 9Y1606 Harness Assembly (Engine) has been replaced and still using the 7W9609 Harness Assembly (Junction Box)

Parts Removal

1 Locate the OPSI Identification Tag in the junction box

This is the oil pressure switch that has three connector openings, two that have wires

* The first wire is marked OPS1-1-ESS5

* The second wire is marked OPS1-3-TS4 and

* The third opening has a clear plastic plug inserted in the housing

2 The clear plug must be removed before installation of the 1041820 Wiring Kit

Use a 6V3008 Insertion Tool to

* Press the clear plug OUT of the housing from the INSIDE of the junction box outward
