Machine Preparation
Park the machine on a level surface and engage the parking brake. Referring to the Operation and Maintenance Manual, shut down the engine, turn the battery disconnect switch to the "Off" position. Operate the service brake pedal several times to release any stored energy in the service brake accumulators.
Procedure
1. Referring to Caterpillar Media Number RENR3447 - Disassembly and Assembly 725 and 730 Articulated Truck Machine Systems - remove the panel at the right hand side of the operator cab to gain access to the service brake accumulators.
2. Remove and discard the information decals that are attached to the service brake accumulators - see illustration below.
3. Thread a nylon tie through the hole in a
new decal. Tighten the tie to form a small loop in the decal and cut off
the loose end - see the illustrations below.
4. Thread a second tie through the loop formed by the first tie but do not secure it - see illustration below.
5. Use the second tie to secure the decal to the fitting at the top of the service brake accumulator as shown in the illustration below.
6. Repeat Steps 3 - 5 of this procedure for the other brake accumulator and decal.
7. Reinstall the panel on the right hand side of the operator cab.
