NOTE: This Program can only be administered after a failure occurs. The decision whether to apply the Program is made by the dealer. When reporting the repair, use "PS5513" as the Part Number and "7755" as the Group Number. Use "96" as the Warranty Claim Description Code and use "Z" as the SIMS Description Code.

Problem

For all 3500 machine engines, the 1W-8512 Shaft As. may fail in rotational bending fatigue due to the presence of a stress riser on the shaft at the point that the 7W-7153 Drive Gear is pressed on. The drive gear then falls into the oil pan and the scavange oil pump will no longer operate. For 16 cylinder engines installed in machines equipped with VIMS a second failure mode may occur. This failure is an unexpected engine shutdown due to low oil level when the engine is at idle.
