Usage:
New "Predelivery and Revisit Inspection Report" forms are available for earthmoving products. The new forms are easier to use. They provide a step by step approach for machine inspections. Special Instruction, Form SEHS8298 will tell you how to inspect machines and fill out these new forms.
There are several inspection report forms. A different form is used for each product family. It is important to use the correct form for each machine. The new form numbers are shown in the chart that follows:
The forms have two parts. The first part is a special SIMS report. It is similar to the previous form. The second part is a checklist that can be used as a guide during inspections. The Special Instruction has more detailed explanations.
The checklist is divided into four sections. These sections show the steps that should be taken during inspection:
-
- 1. Visual inspection
- 2. Service points and fluid levels
- 3. Operation
- 4. After operation
- 1. Visual inspection
Each item should be inspected and checked off. Any problems should be indicated in the available blank space. When the inspection is finished, the report section can be completed. Use a combination of the part number/group number like a regular SIMS report.
When it is difficult to assign a part number to a problem (for example, low fluid level or an operation problem) use the special group numbers which are listed at the bottom on the form.
The new forms can also be used for revisit inspections. This inspection procedure is basically the same as the initial inspection. On the top of the form, under the column "TYPE", fill in the number 1 instead of the number 4. Also, check the second or third box in the main body of the report.
Destroy all old forms that were previously used for predelivery and revisit inspections.
