New Piston Body Has Improved Bonding Between Iron Band And Aluminum Body{1214}

Usage:

3406B (6TB) Industrial Engines

Description of Change: A new improved piston body is used in the above engines. The new piston body has improved retention of the iron band (ring carrier) to the aluminum body. This will help prevent separation of the iron band from the aluminum body.

Adaptable To: The new 113-6045 Piston Body Assembly is a direct replacement for the former 7E-0489 Piston Body Assembly. The former piston body assembly is canceled. The new 113-6045 Piston Body Assembly is in effect with 3406B Industrial Engine 6TB12346.

NOTE: If a former 7E-0489 Piston Body Assembly fails due to a separation between the iron band and the aluminum body, replace all six pistons with new 113-6045 Piston Body Assemblies.

The new piston body assembly is adaptable to 3406B Industrial Engines 6TB1-12345 built to the 105-7147 or 109-1349 Engine Arrangements.
