Shuttle Assembly and Four-Speed Gearbox

Usage:

Separate Shuttle Assembly and Four-Speed Gearbox

1. Remove drain plugs (1) and (4) to drain lubricant from shuttle assembly (2) and four-speed gearbox (3). Replace both drain plugs after lubricant has drained.

2. Remove two bolts securing control system (5) to the four-speed gearbox.

3. Remove five bolts and lock washers securing four-speed gearbox (3) to shuttle assembly (2). Separate these components. Weight of the four-speed gearbox is about 63 kg (140 lbs.). Weight of the shuttle assembly is about 59 kg (130 lbs.).

4. Remove pilot bearing (6) from output shaft (7) of the shuttle assembly, or from inside the four-speed gearbox.

5. Clean gasket material from the joining faces of the shuttle assembly and the four-speed gearbox.

Connect Shuttle Assembly and Four-Speed Gearbox

1. Apply a heavy bead of RTV or silicon gasket material to the mounting face of four-speed gearbox (3), as shown.

2. Install pilot bearing (6) inside output shaft (7) of shuttle assembly (2).

NOTE: Pilot bearing (6) is a loose fitting bearing. Make sure the bearing stays in place during the following step.

3. Mount the four-speed gearbox to the shuttle assembly and secure with five bolts and lock washers. Weight of the four-speed gearbox is about 63 kg (140 lbs.). Weight of the shuttle assembly is about 59 kg (130 lbs.).

4. Install two bolts securing control system (5) to the four-speed gearbox.

NOTE: Refill the entire transmission with lubricant before operating the machine. See the Operation and Maintenance Manual for lubricant information.
