Usage:
1. Remove the access cover from the operators platform.
2. Close fuel valve (5), and disconnect fuel line (4) at the fuel valve. Put a plug in the fuel line to keep dirt and debris out of the fuel system. Move the fuel line clear of the alternator.
3. Put identification marks on three wires (3) that are connected to the alternator. Disconnect the wires from the alternator.
4. Loosen the alternator mounting bolt located under the alternator. Remove the bolt and nut (1) that hold the alternator to the adjusting strap. Move th alternator toward the engine to loosen the tension on the vee-belts. Remove the vee-belts from the pulley on the alternator. Remove the alternator mounting bolt and alternator (2) from the mounting bracket.
NOTE: The following steps are for the installation of the alternator.
5. Put alternator (2) in position on the mounting bracket. Install the alternator mounting bolt located under the alternator.
6. Install the bolt and nut (1) that hold the alternator to the adjusting strap. Do not tighten the nut and bolt at this time.
7. Install the two vee-belts in the pulley on the alternator.
8. Connect three wires (3) in their original location on the alternator.
9. Connect fuel line (4) to the fuel valve. Open the fuel valve.
10. Adjust the vee-belt tension. See "Fan And Alternator Belts" in the Operation & Maintenance Manual.
11. Reinstall the access cover over the alternator.
