Description of Change: New air shut-off groups are used to prevent air leaks and wear. Operation temperature of the air shutoff could exceed the temperature capability of the RTV sealant. If this happens, air leaks could occur around the outside of the housing. Also, vibration of the internal paddle and arm assembly could cause wear which would not allow the air shutoff to completely close.
Adaptable To: The new 7E9608 Air Shutoff Group is a direct replacement for the former 7C8192 Air Shutoff Group on 3606 and 3608 Engines. The new 7E9609 Air Shutoff Group is a direct replacement for the former 7C5803 Air Shutoff Group on 3612 and 3616 Engines. The former air shutoff groups have been canceled. The new air shutoff groups are effective with 3606 (8RB399), 3608 (6MC304), 3612 (9RC80), 3616 (1PD42) Engines.
