SPICER/NAPCO AXLE Caterpillar

How To Test The No-Spin For Proper Installation & Operation

Usage:

STEP 1. Raise driving axle from floor so that tires are completely free.

STEP 2. Place transmission in gear.

STEP 3. (See illustration in panel.) With an assistant on the other side, start test by rotating both wheels in a forward direction as far as possible (normally, both wheels will be stopped after rotating only a few inches.)

STEP 4. (See illustration in panel.) With one person firmly holding the right wheel forward (against the stop), rotate the left wheel rearward while listening for regular indexing or clicking sound-see notes on testing. (The right wheel must be held firmly against the stop or left wheel will not disengage freely.)

STEP 5. (See illustration in panel.) Now rotate both wheels rearward as far as possible (again, both wheels will be stopped after rotating only a few inches.)

STEP 6. (See illustration in panel.) With assistant on other side firmly holding the right wheel in a rearward position against the stop), rotate the left wheel forward, again listening for indexing or clicking sound - see notes on testing.

Again, the right wheel must be held firmly against the stop or the left wheel will not disengage freely.

REPEAT STEPS 3,4,5, and 6 (see Steps 3B,4B,5B, and 6B except this time hold the left wheel against the stops (Steps 3B and 5B) and rotate the right wheel rearward (Step 4B) and forward (Step 6B).
