3208 Marine Engines With Energize-To-Shutoff Fuel Solenoid (An Attachment)
Description of Change: New electrical shutoff groups, 12 and 24 volt, with manual override are available as an attachment on 3208 Marine Engines. The manual override feature enables the engine to be shut off in the event of an electrical or solenoid malfunction. The top of the plungers in the new solenoids have internal 1/4-28 threads. See the illustration. A threaded rod can be installed in the top of the plunger through a hole in the rubber boot. The threaded rod can be pushed down to shut off the fuel and stop the engine.
Adaptable As: The new 7C948 (24 volt) and 7C949 (12 volt) Electrical Shutoff Groups are adaptable as direct replacements for the earlier attachment, energize-to-shutoff, electrical shutoff groups. The components of the new 7C948 Electrical Shutoff Group are listed in Chart A. The components of the new 7C949 Electrical Shutoff Group are listed in Chart B.
