Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids. Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products. Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates. |
Note: Position tube evenly between the end mounting flanges. Hand tighten the mounting bolts at each end of the tube. Torque all hardware starting at one end of the tube and then proceed to torque the opposite end of the tube.
- Attach a suitable lifting device onto engine oil cooler (1). The weight of engine oil cooler (1) is approximately
145 kg (320 lb) .Show/hide tableIllustration 2 g01926635 - Position engine oil cooler (1). Install bolts (13). Repeat for the opposite side.

Illustration 3 g01926429 Show/hide tableIllustration 4 g01926428 - Connect tube assembly (10). Install bolts (11). Clean the joint and the sealing lip on coupling (8). The tubes are a distance of
20 mm (1 inch) from each other. Center coupling (8) over the gap. Lubricate the bolts and tighten the bolts evenly between the bolts. Tighten the bolts to a torque of12 ± 1 N·m (106 ± 9 lb in) . Never tighten the bolts in coupling (8) a second time. Connect tube assembly (12). Install bolts (9). - Position clamp (7) and install bolt (6).

- Fill the cooling system with coolant. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant - Change".
