Updating the 350-3013 Engine Harness As Connector Used on 3512C Petroleum Well Fracturing Engines{1408, 7553}

Usage:

Engine:
3512C (S/N: WF5100-178,180-188,191-193,196-200)
Petroleum Engine:
3512C (S/N: R1A1863-1954; R1S1355-1607)

Introduction

The 350-3013 Engine Harness As connector has the positive and negative wires for the CAN data link located in the wrong pinout locations. This incorrect pinout is at the service tool connector.

Refer the following procedure to update the 350-3013 Engine Harness As .

Update Procedure

  1. Locate the breakout connector shown in Illustration 1.

    (1) Lanyard

    Lanyard (1) with heat shrink material removed

  1. Slide lanyard (1) back on the wiring harness assembly.

    Note: If the lanyard cannot be moved over the braid, remove some of the heat shrink tube.

    Cutting braid for added work area

  1. Cut and removed some of the braided material to allow for a larger work area.

  1. Carefully slit the heat shrink tube.

  1. Using a heat gun, carefully heat only heat shrink tube to gain access to the wires.

    (2) Yellow wire

    (3) Green wire

  1. Peel the heat shrink tube back to exposing the yellow and green wires.

    1. Remove yellow wire from connection "G".

    1. Remove green wire from connection "F".

  1. Place the yellow wire into connection "F".

  1. Place the green wire into connection "G".

  1. Ensure that the pins securely lock into position.

  1. Trim the excess heat shrink tube and braid material.

  1. Wrap the work area with electrical tape.

  1. Place 12 cm (4.75 inch) of 9X-8243 Heat Shrink Tube over the connector and breakout.

    (1) Lanyard

  1. Slide the lanyard back into position.

    Note: If heat shrink material was removed to reposition the lanyard, replace with new heat shrink tube or electrical tape.
