- Retrofit Aftertreatment:
- SCR (S/N: ES71-UP)
It is recommended that Selective Catalytic Reduction (SCR) dosing cabinets are provided with uninterrupted electrical power. Electrical service interruptions can cause the controller to reboot and on repower the controller can advance to stand-by mode if the SCR system controller inputs are below dosing operation parameters. This advance to stand-by mode and skipping of a purge cycle, can result in significant DEF accumulation in the reactor and/or clogging of system components.
If power interruptions are expected, then a facility Uninterrupted Power Source (UPS) (not part of the SCR system) should be used. If a facility UPS is not used but interruptions are expected, then a DC to DC converter option (not part of the SCR system) can be implemented which uses the engine battery to supply power to the electrical controller.
Additional details are provided in the Assembly and Installation Guide, LEBE0033, "Retrofit Selective Catalytic Reduction System" available in the Electronic Media Center.
