New Boost Pressure Sensor Location Is Used for Certain 3512 Petroleum Engines {1408, 1439, 1917}

Description of Change: The new location used for the boost pressure sensor prevents condensation from building up on the sensor. Condensation on the sensor can cause false readings that can lead to over fueling or sensor failure.
Adaptable To: The 194-6724 Pressure Sensor Gp is being moved from the ECM bracket. The procedure below contains the procedure for moving the sensor.
Table 1 contains the part numbers required for this change. Table 2 contains the effective serial numbers.

- Disconnect the hose from the right angled fitting. Remove the fitting from the ECM bracket shown in Illustration 1.

- Disconnect Boost sensor from engine harness and ECM bracket.

- Remove coupler (A) from the boost sensor.

- Remove the previous hose from the intake manifold and install hose (7) .

- Remove bolt (B) from the bracket.

- Install sensor mounting block (4) using bolt (3) and washer (9) .

- Install adapter (1) into the mounting block. Install elbow (2) into the adapter and connect hose (7) .

- Install o-ring seal (10) onto elbow (5). Install the elbow into the mounting block and then install pressure sensor group (6) into elbow (5) .
- Install harness assembly (8) from the pressure sensor group to the main engine harness.
