Description of Change:
A new cylinder liner and seal is used. The new liner has an additional seal groove to allow installation of the new oil seal. The new liner and seal eliminates the need for application of the 9U5839 Sealant on the liner.
It is recommended to install the seals dry. If installation is difficult, a light application of engine oil on the new 6I3549 Oil Seal and antifreeze/water mixture on the 4P9388 Cylinder Seal is permitted.
Adaptable To: The new 6I3550 Liner is a direct replacement for the 9Y2982 Liner. The former liner is canceled. The new 6I3549 Oil Seal is used in addition to the 4P9388 Cylinder Seal. The new liner and seal are effective with 3176 Truck Engine 7LG11183 and 3176B Truck Engine 9CK1.
