Removal Procedure


NOTICE

Care must be taken to ensure that fluids are contained during performance of inspection, maintenance, testing, adjusting, and repair of the product. Be prepared to collect the fluid with suitable containers before opening any compartment or disassembling any component containing fluids.

Refer to Special Publication, NENG2500, "Dealer Service Tool Catalog" for tools and supplies suitable to collect and contain fluids on Cat® products.

Dispose of all fluids according to local regulations and mandates.


Note: M.C.S. regulated engines are equipped with check valves which allow specific pressure sensors to be removed while the engine remains in operation.

  1. The engine can start automatically. Ensure that the power supply is isolated before any service or repairs is performed.

  2. Isolate the system in which the check valve being serviced is located.

  3. Remove sensor (2). Remove check valve (1).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install check valve (1) in the reverse order of removal.
