Introduction
The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.
Problem
145-0875 Modular Handle Gp and 145-0874 Modular Handle Gp on certain Articulated Trucks and Off-Highway Trucks are cracking, deteriorating, or falling apart due to chemicals found in some cleaning solutions.
Solution
Do not use cleaning products that contain chemicals like Alkaline, Alcohol, Ammonia, Bleach and Petroleum products.
When cleaning the handles, it is recommended to use the following:
- A soft cloth with a mixture of 5% mild detergent to water solution in a spray bottle.
- A weak acid-based cleaning chemical is recommended over a basic solution.
Note: Avoid any type of cleaning chemical that has a strong acidic PH level or a strong basic PH level. An acceptable PH level range is from a PH level of 8 to a PH level of 2. Refer to the illustration 1.
