Improved Fuel Priming Pump Groups and Fuel Pump Groups Are Used on Certain Tier 4 Interim Industrial Engines {1256, 1258}

Usage:

C7.1 770
Engine:
C13 (S/N: KWJ1-UP)
C15 (S/N: LDN1-UP)
C18 (S/N: BDN1-UP)
Industrial Engine:
C7.1 (S/N: 7701-UP)
C9.3 (S/N: C9N1-UP)

Description of Change: The fuel priming pump groups and fuel pump groups have been improved to provide better durability. The roller and vane assembly inside the pump body have been changed to a higher grade steel with a tungsten carbide coating. This change allows the pump to be more resistant to low lubricity fuels providing increased service life to the pump. The wire routing inside certain pump housings has also been improved.

Adaptable To: The 361-5084 Fuel Priming Pump Gp and 361-5097 Fuel Pump Gp revisions are adaptable back to first production on the serial numbers listed above. Refer to the information below for identifying the improved parts on the serial numbers listed above.

The change to the wire routing inside the pump housing can be identified by the date code stamp on the pump housing. Pumps which have the improvement will have a date code of "29311" or greater. Refer to Illustrations 3 and 4.

Note: Disregard the letter that directly proceeds the date code.
