Introduction
Do not perform any procedure in this Special Instruction until you read this information and you understand this information.
After a high-pressure fuel pump has been installed and painted, a 330-3344 Film must be applied on the pump. This Special Instruction provides the guidelines for installing the 330-3344 Film .

Contact with high pressure fuel may cause fluid penetration and burn hazards. High pressure fuel spray may cause a fire hazard. Failure to follow these inspection, maintenance and service instructions may cause personal injury or death. |
Installation of the 330-3344 Film
- Only apply the film to surfaces between 15 °C (59 °F) and 27 °C (81 °F).
- Before the film is applied, the surface must be free of any dirt, oil, or grease.
A 50:50 mixture of isopropyl alcohol and water is generally an adequate cleaning agent. A degreasing agent such as heptane, mineral spirits, or naphtha is recommended for removing heavy oil or grease. Remove any remaining degreasing agent with isopropyl alcohol and water.
- Wipe the surface with a lint free cloth until the surface is dry.
- Once the surface is clean and dry, remove the liner from the back of the film. Apply the film to the surface of the high-pressure fuel pump as shown in Illustration 2. Make sure that the film will not be obstructed by any object.
Note: Do not remove the adhesive liner on the back of the film until the film is ready to be applied.

- Press the film firmly into place. To achieve full contact of the adhesive to the mating surface, apply 103 kPa (15 psi) of pressure across the film.
Apply pressure evenly across the entire surface of the film. The use of a hand roller or a squeegee is recommended in order to ensure maximum adhesion to the mating surface.
