Description of Change: New improved software is now used on the engines that are listed above. The improved software will not log an event code or illuminate the diagnostic light when the engine experiences high ambient temperature derates. Use of the new software may increase "Low Power" complaints from the field. When a "Low Power" complaint is received, the ambient temperature should be checked to ensure that the engine is not derated.
Adaptable To: The 369-1624 Engine Ratings Electronic Software Gp for the C7 engine and the 369-1625 Engine Ratings Electronic Software Gp for the C9 engine are direct replacements for the previous software. The new software is adaptable back to the first production of the above listed engines.
The change is effective at the factory with the engine serial numbers C7P00220-UP and P9L00320-UP.
