New valve stem seals are available for certain C13 and C15 On-highway engines. The new lip-type seal design seals combustion gas and pressurized intake air that can leak through the valve stem and valve guide into the crankcase. The guides provides metered lubrication in order to reduce guide wear. These seals help to eliminate the risk of excessive combustion blowby, and can reduce exhaust pressure. Reducing the blowby volume and flow velocity that passes through the valve guides can reduce valve guide bore wear, and can increase Open Crankcase Ventilation (OCV) filter life.
The new 361-3926 Valve Stem Seals can replace the current 163-2478 Valve Stem Seals.
