Az SR5 generátor magas páratartalmú környezetben is gond nélkül tud üzemelni. Azonban ha a generátor alapjáraton van és a környező levegő melegebb, mint a generátor, akkor problémák jelentkezhetnek. Nedvesség képződhet a tekercseken. A nedvesség rontja a tekercsek teljesítményét, és akár kárt is tehet bennük. Amikor a generátor nem aktív, az opcionális térfűtést ajánlott használni.

A térfűtést külső forrásról kell üzemeltetni. Mindkét forrást egyfázisú hálózatról kell üzemeltetni. Ez a forrás 115 váltakozófeszültséges és 230 váltakozófeszültséges egyaránt lehet. Ha a külső forrás 50 hz-es, akkor 200 váltakozófeszültséges hálózatot kell használni.
