High voltage may be present. The power source must be disconnected before working on the equipment. Failure to disconnect the power source could result in injury or death. Verify that the equipment is not energized before performing any maintenance. This work must be performed by trained personnel with correct tools and procedures. Bodily contact with electrical potential will cause personal injury or death. |
An accumulation of dust or foreign material can cause a fire. Serious personal injury and damage to the equipment can occur. Clean the equipment by using a brush, vacuum cleaner or clean cloth that does not leave lint. |
Disconnect all power sources before the equipment is serviced.
Remove all loads. Shut down the generator set before the equipment is serviced.
Disconnect the generator circuit breaker from the generator bus by placing the circuit breaker switch in the "PULL TO LOCK" position. See OMM, "Generator Circuit Breaker".
Remove the fuses that are used in circuits going to the load side (or bus side) of the generator breaker. Removing the fuses ensures that control circuits are not powered from external sources which are paralleled to the generator such as the utility system, or other generator sets.
See OMM, "Switchgear - Check" for further maintenance information.
