  • Two bulk wiring harnesses are available for use on Caterpillar Products. One of the harnesses has three wires and one of the harnesses has six wires. The harnesses can be used for external repairs to original wiring and the harnesses can be used for attachments that are installed at the dealership.

Both harnesses are wrapped in a yellow braid that is resistant to high temperatures. The length of both harnesses is 61 m (200 ft) and the harnesses are shipped on spools.

The harnesses do not have terminals at the ends of the wires. Each wire is 14 AWG. Only use the harnesses when the 14 AWG is equal to the required size for the circuit or greater than the required size for the circuit.

When you use a harness, protect the ends with heat shrink tubing in order to help prevent the braid from fraying.

Each wire in each harness is marked along the length of the wiring for identification and each wire is a different color. The part numbers of the harnesses, the wire identification and the wire colors are listed in Table 1.
