Installation Procedure
Note: The door of the enclosure must be removed in order to change the window on enclosures that are high off of the ground.
Perform the following procedure:
- In order to remove the old window and the old window seal, you must first remove the inside window seal from the inside of the door.
- Start along the side or the top of the window opening. Fit the 237-5071 Seal into the window opening. Verify that the face of the seal which receives the 237-5072 Seal insert is on the same side as the interior door. Continue installing the seal around the perimeter of the window opening. Cut the seal in order to slightly overlap the starting point of the window opening. Bring the ends of seal together and force the ends over the panel. This will ensure a tight joint. Refer to Illustration 1.

- Apply a solution of soapy water from a spray bottle to the locking lip and window channel. This procedure will ease the entry of the glass. Also, this procedure will prevent possible cutting of the rubber gasket. In addition, this procedure will facilitate the insertion of the locking tool and final locking operation. Refer to Illustration 2.

- Start in a lower corner and insert the window into the channel as far as the panel will go without being forced. Lift the lip of the channel for the glass by using the 5P-1720 Seal Pick tool so that the window slips easily into the channel. The tool is applied in a direction which is parallel with the surface of the window. The seal pick is used to pull up the seal material. Use caution as the seal pick can damage the seal. Refer to Illustration 3 and Illustration 4.

- Once the window has been fully installed into the 237-5071 Seal , begin installing the 237-5072 Seal insert. The 237-5072 Seal insert is installed into the 237-5071 Seal groove that is located on the interior side of the window. Use the installation tool for the window seal insert to secure the seal in place. The installation tool for the window seal insert should not come into contact with the surface of the window. Refer to Illustration 5 and Illustration 6. The complete assembly will provide a proper weatherproof window.
