Description of Change: Shorter mounting bolts are now used on the above models to fasten the glow plug wiring to the engine. Also, on six-cylinder models, new washers are used with the new bolts. Use of the new, shorter bolts will make sure the wiring brackets and the valve cover are held tightly before the bolts make contact with the bottom of the bolt holes. Formerly, on some engines, the bolts made contact with the bottom of the holes before the wiring brackets and valve cover were tight. This permitted loose wiring and oil leakage.

Adaptable As: Direct replacement. On four-cylinder models, use two new 1C569 Bolts in place of the former two 2H3755 Bolts. On six-cylinder models, use three new 1C569 Bolts and three new 9M1974 Washers in place of the former three 2H3755 Bolts and three 1Y462 Washers.
