- Connect pressure gauge (A) to fitting (2) by using tools (B), (C), (D), (E), (F), (G), and (H). Use this pressure gauge to monitor the relief valve pressure setting of the left travel motor for forward travel.
- Connect line (1) to tool (B) .
- Connect pressure gauge (A) to fitting (4) by using tools (B), (C), (D), (E), (F), (G), and (H). Use this pressure gauge to monitor the relief valve pressure setting of the left travel motor for reverse travel.
- Connect line (3) to tool (B) .
- Place a track block (6) in sprocket (5) in order to block forward left travel. Refer to Illustration 2.

Sprocket (left track) (5) Sprocket (6) Track block |
- Start the engine.
- Place the machine controls at the following settings: engine speed dial "10" and AEC switch OFF.
- Increase the hydraulic oil temperature to 55° ± 5°C (131° ± 9°F).
- Slowly move the left travel control lever to full FORWARD position and check the pressure gauge reading at fitting (2). The pressure setting of relief valve (9) should be 35000 kPa (5100 psi).

- Return the left travel control lever to the NEUTRAL position.
- In order to adjust relief valve (9), loosen locknut (7) and turn adjustment screw (8) until the pressure gauge reading at the pressure tap for the idler pump is 35000 kPa (5100 psi).
Note: Turn adjustment screw (8) clockwise in order to increase the pressure. Turn adjustment screw (8) counterclockwise in order to decrease the pressure.
Note: Always make final pressure adjustment on pressure rise.
- Tighten locknut (7) .
- Place track block assembly (6) in sprocket (5) in order to block reverse left travel.
- Slowly move the left travel lever to full REVERSE position and check the pressure gauge reading at fitting (4). The pressure setting of relief valve (10) should be 35000 kPa (5100 psi).
- Return the left travel control lever to the NEUTRAL position.
- In order to adjust relief valve (10), loosen locknut (11) and turn adjustment screw (12) until the pressure gauge reading at the pressure tap for the idler pump is 35000 kPa (5100 psi).
Note: Turn adjustment screw (12) clockwise in order to increase the pressure. Turn adjustment screw (12) counterclockwise in order to decrease the pressure.
Note: Always make final pressure adjustments on pressure rise.
- Tighten locknut (11) .
- Stop the engine.
- Remove track block (6) from sprocket (5) .
- Remove the pressure gauges and test fittings from fitting (2) and fitting (4) .
- Reinstall line (1) onto fitting (2) and line (3) onto fitting (4) .
Note: In order to adjust the relief valves on the right travel motor, place stopper (6) in the sprocket for right travel. Use the pressure gauges in order to monitor the relief valve pressure settings for the right travel motor. Adjust the relief valves on the right travel motor in the same manner as the adjustment for the left travel motor.
