Problem
The twin turbochargers in the engines that are listed above that are used in O&K Shovels and Excavators can surge when the engine load is released quickly. This surge causes failures of the compressor wheel or failures of the turbocharger shaft.
Solution
The new 329-6720 Engine Ratings Electronic Software Gp file is available. Flash the new software into the Electronic Control Module. Also in the configuration screen in Caterpillar Electronic Technician (ET), both engines should have "Run Out of Control" set to "Disabled".
