Description Of Change: The following procedure can be followed to replace the Rotochamber for the rear engine of the Wheel Tractor Scraper.

Table 1 contains the parts needed for the retrofit procedure.

Note: The following procedure can be used to replace the 8W-0072 Rotochamber Group and the 6D-4397 Rotochamber Group.

Removal Procedure

(A) Governor Hose (B) Bolt

1. Disconnect governor hose (A) from the regulator

2. Remove bolt (B) to disconnect the rotochamber clevis from the lever.

3. Remove and discard two bolts (C), two washers (D), mount bracket assembly (E) and rotochamber assembly (F).

Installation Procedure

1. Assemble regulator (1) to slave cylinder (2) with pipe nipple (3).

2. Assemble bracket (6) to the engine with two bolts (4) and two washers (5).

   Note: For the 627E Wheel Tractor Scraper the slots on bracket (6) need to be enlarged to prevent the rotochamber from contacting the drain tube for the turbocharger.

3. Assemble the cylinder assembly to bracket (6) with two bolts (7), two washers (8), and two nuts (9).

4. Assemble rod end (10) to rod end (11) and secure with nut (12).

   Note: Length of rod will vary by model, adjust as necessary.

5. Assemble the rod assembly to the cylinder assembly with bolt (13), washer (14), and nut (15).

   Note: Location of the bolt varies by model, adjust the location as necessary.

6. Secure the rod assembly to the lever with clevis pin (16), washer (17), and cotter pin (18).

7. Connect governor hose (A) to regulator (1)

(1) Governor Control Valve Adjustment (2) Rubber Stop for Pedal

1. Adjust the scraper governor control valve at (1) to increase output air pressure to 827 kPa (120 psi).

   Note: The valve is located under the floor plate of the cab. To adjust the valve, a three quarter inch drive extension is required.

   Note: Some models may require the rubber stop (2) on the pedal to be trimmed to prevent leakage. Trim the rubber stop as necessary.
