------ WARNING! ------

The machine must be on a level, hard surface before a separation of the track is made. Any time a separation of both tracks is made, the machine must have blocks correctly positioned so the machine will not move.

  1. Remove track adjuster cover (1) and the O-ring seal.

    ------ WARNING! ------

To prevent personal injury, never visually inspect the vent holes or the valves to see if grease or oil is coming out of them. Make sure the vent holes are clean before the tension is released on the track. Watch the front roller frame to see that it moves.

  2. Loosen the track by performing the following steps:

    1. Turn relief valve (2) counterclockwise by one turn. Do not turn fill valve (3). This adjustment releases grease from the track tension cylinder. If the track does not loosen, proceed to Step 2.b.

    2. Turn relief valve (2) counterclockwise by one turn. Do not turn fill valve (3). This adjustment releases grease from the track tension cylinder. If the track does not loosen, start the machine. Move the machine forward and backward. If grease is not released, proceed to Step 2.c.

    3. Install a piece of round bar stock between the bushing and the sprocket inside the track links. Move the machine to the rear so that the round bar stock pushes the track upward. This movement increases tension on the track. The track tension cylinder moves inward.

  3. Position the machine so that the track master link is aligned with the centerline of rear idler (6).

  4. Position Tooling (A) under the grouser below the track master link.

  5. Position the machine rearward until the track is firmly against Tooling (A).

  6. Raise the blade.

  7. Position Tooling (B) under both sides of the blade.

  8. Lower the blade onto Tooling (B).

Note: The weight of the track master shoe can vary depending on the type of track on the machine.

  9. Remove bolts (4) and track master shoe (5). The weight of track master shoe (5) is approximately 20 kg (44 lb).

  10. Separate track master links (7).

    ------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury can result from the track coming off of the roller frame.

The track can move off the track roller frame very quickly when a separation of the track is made.

Keep away from the front of the machine when the track is removed from the track roller frame.

  11. Attach a suitable chain to the end of track (8) and to another machine. Turn the final drive in the forward direction. Permit track (8) to fall forward while the other machine moves forward.

Note: The weight of the track can vary depending on the type of track on the machine.

  12. Attach a suitable lifting device to track (8). The weight of track (8) is approximately 1675 kg (3693 lb).

  13. Remove track (8).
