Installation Procedure

  1. Install turbocharger (18) in the reverse order of removal.

    1. Apply Tooling (B) to the threads of the bolts for nuts (19).

    2. Install new nuts (19). Tighten nuts (19) in a cross pattern. Tighten nuts (19) to a torque of 70 ± 5 N·m (52 ± 4 lb ft).

Note: Do not use power tools to torque clamps (8) and (7).

    3. Tighten clamp (8) to a torque of 12 ± 4 N·m (106 ± 35 lb in).

    4. Tighten clamp (7) to a torque of 55 ± 8 N·m (41 ± 6 lb ft).

Note: New nitrogen oxide sensors (9) are pre-lubricated. Do not apply Tooling (C) to the threads of new nitrogen oxide sensor (9). When installing an existing nitrogen oxide sensor (9) install Tooling (C) on the threads only.

    5. Apply Tooling (C) to the threads only of nitrogen oxide sensor (9).

    6. Tighten nitrogen oxide sensor (9) to a torque of 50 ± 10 N·m (37 ± 7 lb ft).

Note: Do not use power tools to torque clamps (5) and (3).

    7. Tighten clamp (5) to a torque of 7.5 ± 1.0 N·m (66.38 ± 8.85 lb in).

    8. Tighten clamp (3) to a torque of 7.5 ± 1.0 N·m (66.38 ± 8.85 lb in).
