Engine Oil Cooler - Remove and Install

Usage:

C27 JHM

Removal Procedure

------ WARNING! ------

Hot oil and components can cause personal injury.

Do not allow hot oil or components to contact skin.


  1. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Cooling System Coolant (ELC) - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedures.

  2. Refer to Operation and Maintenance Manual, "Engine Oil and Filter - Change" for the correct draining and filling procedures.

  3. Remove heat shield (1) and disconnect hose assemblies (2).

  4. Remove clamp (3) and clamp (7).

  5. Disconnect tube assembly (4), tube assembly (5), and tube assembly (6).

  6. Disconnect harness assembly (8) and remove bolts (9).

  7. Disconnect tube assembly (10).

  8. Remove bolts (12), bolts (10), and exhaust cooler (13).

  9. Attach a suitable lifting device to engine oil cooler (15). The engine oil cooler (15) weighs approximately 44 kg (97 lb).

  10. Remove bolts (14), bolts (16), and engine oil cooler (15).

Installation Procedure

  1. Install engine oil cooler (15) in the reverse order of removal.
