Electronic Control Module (ECM) - Configure

Usage:

C-9 MTB
The ET is required in order to configure a new machine electronic control module.

A new machine electronic control module must be configured at the time of installation. When the electronic control module is configured, the machine's model number and the machine's top gear limit are set.

Note: The electronic control module will not function properly if the control module has not been configured.

The Procedure for the ET

  1. Turn the key start switch to the OFF position.

  1. Connect the ET to the service tool connector.

  1. Turn the key start switch to the RUN position.

  1. The ET will initiate communications with the electronic control module's on the Diesel Particulate Filter.

  1. Select the ECM for the Diesel Particulate Filter.

  1. From the main menu, select the "Service Configuration" menu item.

  1. Configure the type of transmission.

  1. Double click on the configuration for the type of transmission. A window will appear. The window will request the maximum forward gear. The operator will double click on the number of gears for the forward transmission.

  1. Enter the number of gears for the forward transmission. Select the "OK" button.

    The ET will verify that you want to change the parameter. Select "YES".

  1. Select "Engine Configure" in order to select the appropriate type of engine.

  1. Click on the "Data Link Disconnect" button.

  1. Disconnect the ET from the service tool connector.

  1. Turn the key start switch to the OFF position.
