Transportation Width Issue on Certain D6T Track-Type Tractors that Are Equipped with 6SU XL Narrow Blade{0355, 6050, 6061, 7000}

Introduction

The problem that is identified below does not have a known permanent solution. Until a permanent solution is known, use the solution that is identified below.

Refer to Special Instructions, REHS1841, "General Welding Procedures".

Problem

The overall width of the 334-1750 Push Arm Gp is 3100.94 mm (122.084 inch) that exceeds the transportation limit of 3000 mm (118.1 inch).

Solution

Use the following procedure in order to minimize the width of the tractor:

Left-hand side push arm

  1. Cut step (1) that is welded on the push arm.

    Left-hand side push arm

  1. Position new 9W-5375 Bar (2) on the push arm to a dimension (B) of 45 mm (1.8 inch) as shown in the Illustration 3.

  1. Weld 9W-5375 Bar (2) on the push arm.

  1. Repeat Step 1 through Step 3 to weld 9W-5375 Bar on the push arm on the right side of the machine.
