Introduction
This Special Instruction provides information about the parts and procedures that are required to install a zip-in window seal on Caterpillar products with a cab.

- Lay the glass on a horizontal surface with the side that will be in the interior of the cab down. Make sure that the entire perimeter is accessible.

- Install seal (1) on the perimeter of the glass, paying attention to the orientation of seal (1) .

- While installing seal (1), periodically push in small sections of the zipping side. Refer to Illustrations 3 and 4.
Note: Pushing in small section will put pressure on seal (1) and help keep it from moving on the glass during installation.

- Place rope (B) into the groove of seal (1), making sure the ends overlap.

- Apply soapy water into the door or window frame to aid with ease of assembly.
- Place the door or window frame on a flat surface with the interior side facing down. Leave the bottom side partially accessible so that rope (B) can be pulled out to seal the glass onto the frame.

- Using glass suction cups carefully place the glass into the frame, making sure the ends of rope (B) hang through.

- Begin pulling rope (B) out, keeping rope (B) parallel to the glass, and perpendicular to the seal and the frame. Make sure seal (1) overlaps the metal lip of the frame. Keep light pressure on the glass to prevent the glass from popping out of the frame. Use rope (B) to pull on seal (1) to ensure that seal (1) lays flat around obstructions close to the glass. Refer to Illustrations 8 and 9.

- Apply soapy water to seal (1) and zip shut with seal installer (A). Refer to Illustrations 10 and 11.
