Remote Input/Output Dry Contact - Setup

The "User Parameters" screen allows qualified service personnel to configure remote input and output contact functions. User-defined text messages assigned to the remote input contacts can be edited.

Depending on the parameter being changed, entry of data is made by one of the following input devices:

  • a numeric keypad

  • an alphanumeric keyboard that is displayed as needed on the Graphical User Interface

You access the "User Parameters" from the Control Tab on the Graphical User Interface. Refer to Illustration 1.

Editing Remote Output Contacts

Perform the following steps to configure remote outputs for the UPS/SMS or MMU.

  1. Select a remote output by touching the associated output key (For example, Remote Output 1).

    The Edit Remote Output dialog appears. Refer to Illustration 2.

  1. Enter the remote output values by touching the required keypad buttons.

  1. Touch "Enter" when done.

Output Contact Definitions

The following list of functions can be assigned to the remote output contacts by entering the parameter in the menu for the operating parameter for the associated remote output. Each User Programmable Remote Output Contact provides a Form C connection.

The output contacts have the following ratings:

  • 5 A

  • 30VDC

  • 30VAC

Editing Remote Input Contacts

Perform the following steps to configure remote inputs for the UPS/SMS or MMU.

  1. Select a remote input by touching the associated input key.

  1. Enter the remote input values by touching the required keypad buttons.

    The "Edit User Message" dialog appears. Refer to Illustration 4.

  1. Enter the user message by touching the required keypad buttons.

  1. Touch "Done" when finished.
