Fuel Transfer Pump - Remove and Install

Usage:

D7E TAN

Removal Procedure

------ WARNING! ------

Personal injury or death may result from failure to adhere to the following procedures.

Fuel leaked or spilled onto hot surfaces or electrical components can cause a fire.

Clean up all leaked or spilled fuel. Do not smoke while working on the fuel system.

Turn the disconnect switch OFF or disconnect the battery when changing fuel filters.

  1. Open the left side engine door.

  1. Turn the fuel shutoff valve to the OFF position.

  1. Disconnect harness assemblies (1) and remove hose assemblies (3) .

  1. Remove the secondary fuel filter assembly.

  1. Disconnect hose assembly (5). Disconnect tube assemblies (4) .

  1. Remove bolts (3) .

  1. Loosen tube assembly (9). Loosen locknut (8). Remove nut (12) and reposition plate (7) .

  1. Remove nut (14) and bracket assembly (6) .

  1. Remove bolts (10), stud (11), stud (15), fuel transfer pump (13), and the O-ring seals.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install fuel transfer pump (13) in the reverse order of removal.

    1. Tighten bolts (10), stud (11), and stud (15) to a torque of 30 ± 4 N·m (22 ± 3 lb ft).
