Disassembly Procedure

Start By:

1. Remove the pilot control valve. Refer to Disassembly and Assembly, "Pilot Operated Hydraulic Control (Joystick) - Remove".

Note: Cleanliness is an important factor. Before the disassembly procedure, the exterior of the component should be thoroughly cleaned. This will help to prevent dirt from entering the internal mechanism.

Personal injury can result from being struck by parts propelled by a released spring force. Make sure to wear all necessary protective equipment. Follow the recommended procedure and use all recommended tooling to release the spring force.

1. Remove screws (5) and handle (3) .

2. Remove boot (16), rod (8), and nut (13) .

3. Remove bolts (4), plate (2), and lever assembly (7) .

4. Remove coil assembly (12), retainer (1), and plates (6) .

5. Remove adapter (9), O-ring seal (10), grommets (11), and plate (14) from pilot valve (17) .

6. Remove cartridge assemblies (15) .

7. Use Steps 7.a through 7.h in order to disassemble cartridge assemblies (15) .

   1. Remove O-ring seals (29), (30), and (32) .

   2. Carefully compress spring (21) and use Tooling (A) in order to remove retaining ring (19) .

   3. Remove retainer (20) and spring (21) .

   4. Remove stop (35), O-ring seal (36), spring (34), and orifice (33) .

   5. Remove adapter (28) from cage (31) .

   6. Remove plunger (22), O-ring seal (23), and ball (24) from adapter (28) .

   7. Compress spring (27) in order to remove retainers (26) from spool (25) .

   8. Remove spring (27) and spool (25) from cage (31) .

8. Remove plugs (18) and the O-ring seals from pilot valve (17) .

9. Use the following steps in order to disassemble lever assembly (7) .

   1. Remove bolts (37). Remove detent assembly (38) from lever assembly (7) .

   2. Remove nuts (39) from lever assembly (7) .

   3. Remove pins (42) .

   4. Remove washer (41) and spring (40) from one pin (42) .
