Plan View Information
The information in the Plan View varies according to the design type that is loaded.

The Plan View displays the following types of information:
Horizontal alignment features:
- Design boundary
- Site map
- Background linework
- Roading alignments
- Sloping surface alignments
- 3D lines
- The selected horizontal guidance line and offset
Avoidance zones:
- Site
- Design
Map recording information:
- Coverage
- Ripper
- Radio coverage
- Terrain map
- Cut/Fill
Machine information
- Machine type
- Focus point
- Guidance point(s)
Note: The Plan View shows the boundary around the design surface as a light gray line. If a design does not contain boundary information, no boundary appears.
Road Design
The Plan View of a road design file shows a master alignment which, unlike a sloping surface master alignment, can be straight or curved. A road file can also contain additional road alignments. Additional road alignments are arranged on either side of the master alignment. Road alignments appear as black lines.
Sloping Surface Design
If a sloping surface design is loaded, the Plan View shows the centerline as a straight black line.
3D Lines design
A 3D line is displayed in the color that the 3D line was designed with. When a 3D line is selected for both horizontal and vertical guidance, the 3D line appears red. When a 3D line is selected for vertical guidance and a different line is selected for horizontal guidance, the 3D line appears blue.
You can also change the width of the design surface defined by a 3D line when selecting the line. The extents of this design surface are displayed in the plan view with a light gray line.
Plan View rotation
The Plan View can be configured to rotate with the machine or the Plan View can be configured to keep the linework pointing north-up.
When the Plan View is set to rotate, both the linework and the machine icon rotate to keep the machine pointing toward the top of the screen. The following two screens show how the Plan View rotates as the machine turns right.

Illustration 3 | g01267125 |
As the machine continues to turn right, the Plan View rotates 90° to the left. The machine keeps pointing toward the top of the screen as shown in Illustration 3.

When the Plan View is not configured to rotate, the linework remains fixed in the one direction. The machine icon rotates around the Plan View as the machine moves across the design surface. Illustration 4 shows how the machine turns and moves toward the bottom of the Plan View.
